Secret Word

from Countless Others by Countless Others

/

lyrics

you wrote me letters I never returned, instead of letting it hang there, I should of dug in and bit the line.
i pulled a perfect example of apathy, from my collection of perfect examples, of which you are a part,
but representing a different word, something i keep quiet cause i

never cursed, never lost, never crossed a secret
never could, never wrote a word that could see it through,
what's in your gloved hand?
is it whisper, or an angry ghost? a lost thought.
something you forgot.
when you remember you'll race round the yard and feel
more alive than ever and inside my letter I've written it plainly concealed,
a secret word, to get your laughter
to get your laughter.

you left some doors wide, I left the house cold, gazing at some starry night,
i could of fell in and died a bit to see what lives in it,
and how i could get to it, and when the
moon is ripe and a mist comes,
i'm in a hurry to find out everything,
just as fast as possible, if possible.
and i'm trouble to hold onto
and i'm a troubled hold on you, and so i

never cursed, never lost, never crossed a secret
never could, never wrote a word that could see it through,
what's in your gloved hand?
is it whisper, or an angry ghost? a lost thought.
something you forgot.
and when you remember you'll race round the yard and feel
it's hidden though obvious
more alive than ever and inside my letter i've written it plainly concealed,
intended to be found
a secret word, to get your laughter
to get your laughter.
